Hello and welcome to the Wilson and Central Catholic (W&CC) Ski Team website. Please note that many of our successful racers have not raced before they joined the W&CC ski team. Compared to ski area lessons, the W&CC ski team represents an excellent value, with top notch training and coaching. If you want to be an advanced or expert skier for life, joining the W&CC ski team is a tremendous opportunity. The skiing portion of our season starts as soon as Mt. Hood Ski Bowl or Timberline open. (The Fusion ski pass - which is a season pass to both Ski Bowl and Timberline - is a good value to enable skiing regardless of the weather.) Dryland training begins in November, and is a critical part of being ready to ski your best and avoid injuries this year. The Wednesday training (via ski bus) starts after Thanksgiving. However, if the snow arrives on time we arrange parental car pools beginning Sat, Nov 21. The seven (six league plus Cato memorial) races are held on Saturdays on Mt. Hood.
2009 results: Three of our racers from this season placed in the top 5 in our league; Sean Fagan, Evan LeCoq, and Erika Winner. Both the Central Catholic Boys and the Wilson Boys teams were very competitive from the start, placing 1st and 2nd in the first league race. Both teams qualified for the state race which was held at Mt. Bachelor. The weather during the season was memorable! Very mild temperatures prevailed for most of our training and racing days & nights. The snow pack from December lasted until major snow fall just before the state race in March. This made the conditions very challenging, yielding very up and down results. Congratulations to all of our skiers!
