Hello and welcome to our Ski Team website. Here you will find all sorts of information about our team, along with pictures to give you a glimpse of what we do and how we do it. Although ski racing is a winter sport, our program is nearly a year round adventure. Each Fall the team begins the journey with our night out to view Warren Miller ski films. Dryland training begins in November, followed by on-snow training after Thanksgiving. The racing schedule begins in January and ends at the STATE championships in March. In December we take our annual training trip to White Pass in Washington to train and bond as a team. In February we also take a trip to the Lodges on Mt. Hood for additional training followed by a race the next day. In the Summer months, returning racers have a chance to attend ski race camps to further improve their skills to prepare for the following season.
2007-08 Season: The season got off to a slow start with a lack of snow to train on. When it did begin snowing it never seemed to quit. The race season had us on the mountain racing in near white-out conditions and we even had a race cancelled due to "Too Much Snow". The Wilson boys varsity team and some of our Wilson girls varsity skiers qualified for State again this year. The Central Catholic boys varsity won the Three Rivers League Championship and qualified for State as well. Congratulations to all of our skiers!
The Future Looks Bright: Both the girls and boys teams will lose some valuable skiers to graduation this year. The Wilson Varsity Boys team spent a week this summer training at the Mt. Hood Summer Ski Camp and the Central Catholic racers trained at several ski camps on Mt. Hood this summer as well. We are a very deep and motivated team, and we look forward to kicking some more butt next winter and returning to State.
