Hello and welcome to the Wilson and Central Catholic (W&CC) Ski Team website.  Please note that many of our successful racers have not raced before they joined the W&CC ski team.  Compared to ski area lessons, the W&CC ski team represents an excellent value, with top notch training and coaching.  If you want to be an advanced or expert skier for life, joining the W&CC ski team is a tremendous opportunity.  The skiing portion of our season starts as soon as the snow flies on Mt. Hood.  (The Fusion ski pass - which is a season pass to both Ski Bowl and Timberline - is a good value to enable skiing regardless of the weather.)  Dryland training begins in November, and is a critical part of being ready to ski your best and avoid injuries this year. Our mountain training typically starts after Thanksgiving.  During the month of December we offer a variety of practice schedules which include a weekend trip to White Pass, WA.  We typically take a Raz bus to our Tuesday night training sessions at Ski Bowl. However, these do not typically start until January. Our Racing season begins in January.  We typically race every Saturday from January until the 3 week in February. Typically league races are held at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, Timberline, and Mt. Hood Meadows.  The State Championships follow the regular season and occur the first week in March.

Team organization: Wilson HS and Central Catholic HS are two ski teams that compete in the Three Rivers League. The two teams share the same coaching staff, training 'lanes' (ski slope allocation), fundraising efforts, Tuesday training bus, and other activities.   Sharing costs between two teams helps maximize the value of the training and ski racing season.
2011 Results: Trevor Schmidt (Sophomore) and Wesley Schnapp (Junior) led the way with 5th place and 19th place overall individual finished at the state championships.  Our team sent 8 racers to the state championships in Bend last season.  The Wilson boys team finished 6th in league just behind the Central Catholic Boys.  Both girls teams finished just out a state qualifying position.
Site updated December 14, 2011.  White Pass trip photos posted, ski camp dates and information posted on calendar page.

The Future Looks Bright:  As with any season we are sad to see our seniors go.  Of our 25 athletes this past year, we will be losing 4 seniors.  However, our returning racers have tremendous talent. We are always recruiting new team members! If you are interested please contact Coach Jason Gillies for more information. (Contact Us)
